MEET OUR TEAM

Port Macquarie Occupational Therapy was established in 2018 by Emma Power. Emma graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 2010 and has been working as an Occupational Therapist in Port Macquarie since 2013.

Emma has worked with both adult and paediatric populations over the years however Port Macquarie Occupational Therapy was established primarily to service the local adult population.

Emma is passionate about Home Modifications and Assistive Technology services to assist individuals in building their mobility and independence at home and in the community. Emma is also COPE trained (Care of People with dementia in their Environments) after undertaking training with a COPE Master trainer.

Emma is an experienced therapist who maintains active AHPRA Registration (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)

Port Macquarie local Sarah Howes primarily delivers Occupational Therapy Services under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and following an Occupational Therapy Assessment, will assist you with your CHSP Home Modifications or Goods, Equipment, Assistive Technology (GEAT2GO) applications.

Sarah is one of a few Occupational Therapists on the Mid North Coast who is COPE trained (Care of People with dementia in their Environments) after undertaking training with a COPE Master trainer "COPE delivers a multi-session intervention over three phases, provided by specifically COPE trained occupational therapists and nurses, providing families with education and important skills to prevent and manage challenging care problems at home".

Sarah also completes NDIS Occupational Therapy Functional Capacity Assessments.

Jennifer Allen also a Port Macquarie local.

Jennifer is passionate about building and developing people's skills through therapeutic intervention. With a background in fitness and energy to match, Jennifer is trained to deliver the Stepping On Programme "Stepping On is a Seven week program designed for people who are living at home and have experienced a fall or are concerned about falling".

Jennifer primarily delivers Occupational Therapy Services under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) in conjunction with some occupational therapy interventions under the NDIS.

Luke Toovey has relocated to Port Macquarie in recent years with a background in working across various My Aged Care Programmes. Luke is skilled in delivery of services within the Short Term Restorative Care (STRC) Programme and the Home Care Packages (HCP). Luke is also heading up the team's delivery of NDIS services which include Functional Capacity Assessments, Assistive Technology Assessments and Complex Home Modifications.
